File # 2020-42349
The Nanaimo RCMP is in possession of a set of tools that were seized during a vehicle check. The check occurred on Howard Ave, at approximately 12:30 am on Tuesday November 24, 2020.
When the investigating officer stopped the 2020 Acadia rental vehicle, the tools, some of which are shown in the attached photo, were in plain view on the rear seat of the vehicle. Neither the male driver or his female passenger were listed on the rental agreement and neither could offer a reasonable explanation as to where the tools originated. Additionally, the vehicle was one day late in being returned to the rental agency.
The vehicle was subsequently towed for safe keeping and the rental agency was informed of its location. The tools were seized as the officer was of the opinion that the tools had most likely been stolen. All serial numbers were checked with negative results. One of the tools is engraved with
Mitch and Milwaukee Band Saw has
TTI on it.
